Lead UX designer

What were the design challenges?

As an user experience designer, deal with opinions and voices from different stakeholders is the most common yet not easy thing to do.

Who is our audience?

Sometimes we encounter situations where the needs of our clients and end users do not match.

Manager L:

" I want every information big and clear. "

Staff P:

" We need bigger buttons. "

One time we spent two weeks in a beauty product warehouse visiting and talking to the staff who work there.

The warehouse manager stated that the product information needed to be presented in a clearer style, such as larger images and product UPCs, because they needed the pickers to confirm the accuracy of the items they were picking during the picking process; however, our interviews with the pickers revealed that they felt that having easy to click and obvious primary buttons on the interface would improve picking efficiency.

Does one thing fit all?

Each warehouse has different types of operations, uses different containers or has different business processes.

We have designed several sets of UI corresponding to variants clients needs; Each of them has a switch at our backend system called BluePrint.

Consider the relationship between every switch was quite a challenge since they were not just switches that would affect UI or layout changes, it was more related to the actual warehouse needs and the data flow inside our system.

Always be inclusive

We have clients in various countries around the world, so our interfaces need to be designed for multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean.

During the design process, the designer needs to consider not simply the ease of use of this product, but also the length of the translated text to match the current interface layout and the language habits of each country.
